SPIED! Hyundai Santa Cruz Pickup CAUGHT In the Flesh! Do YOU Like What You See?
The 2021 Hyundai Santa Cruz unibody pickup is coming closer to reality, and it'll arrive next year. After being revealed as a concept at the 2015 Detroit auto show, and announced that it'll be built alongside the Santa Fe mid-size SUV in Alabama, we've been excited to see how the Korean automaker's first foray into the pickup segment will pan out.

Hyundai's first pickup is expected to use the Santa Fe SUV's 2.4-liter and turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-fours paired with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive.

Pricing is expected to start around $25,000, and they should arrive in the U.S sometime next year.

Crossover pickups are bound to take off sooner of later. I cannot wait for the Courier.

Ford plans to use the name Courier for the Escape pickup. We were hoping for Ranchero.

I am confused.
The picture above is close to what was released several years ago.
Autospies had an article several months ago that showed a 4 door version.
Is a 2 door or 4 door being made?

Not sure it will do that well. I do think an El Camino type pickup will do well, but this is like mid-size pickup and it seems to me most people who buy a regular or mid-size pickup also want that pick up look. I don't think the Honda Ridgeline ever really sold in huge numbers and this kind of reminds me of that truck.

If they fully load it, don't skimp on power, and price it aggressively it may have legs. Make them in Alabama, sell them both north and south of the border, mucho bien ;)

The problem with the Ridgeline has ALWAYS been its execution. The first one was Aztek ugly and big enough to be a real pickup, but so evidently NOT a real pickup. The second one tries to be a real pickup with its styling and run with the big boys bit it so obviously is NOT capable of that.

The sweet spot is likely to be one size smaller in the C segment. The Ridgeline pulled from the Civic's platform like the CRV would be better for Honda.

We have people who look at the prices of the Ranger and Colorado and realize that for not that much more they can have a "real" pickup. The Ranger and Colorado are almost as fuel thirty as the F150 and Silverado.

The small pickup buyer might take to the idea of a crossoverpickup for hauling marigolds home from Lowes on the weekends.

Hyundai's latest money printing machine.... this company is in it to win it.

GM is so pathetic it makes me sick. Other company's simply out class them in every way. Its disgusting to watch the incompetence... Every time one company knocks it out of the park it shows how incompetent GM is...
