Elon Says ANOTHER Model Y Is PROBABLY Coming By Year End. Can You GUESS What Will Be Different?
Elon, like the Donald, was tweeting again last night and someone inquired about the Model Y.

Specifically, about more seating...

Here was Elon's response:

Just 3k more on top of a normal Model Y.

Once Tesla gets the myriad of catastrophic quality problems addressed on the Model Y, the Model Y will become all the Tesla that anyone needs and it will cement Tesla's image as the leading producer of semi-luxury EV automotive appliances.

The Model Y (ugly yes) is so well packaged that there is no reason to buy any other Tesla. I'm not a Tesla fan but I have to hand it to their designers and engineers - Tesla's are very clever vehicles.

As such, it flies in the face of logic that the Cybertruck ever sees the light of day. It is completely dischordant with the Tesla brand.

Say what: "The Model Y (ugly yes) is so well packaged..."

It's a crossover that is shaped like a bloated hatchback. Its packaging is horrendous.

There is NOTHING clever about the Model Y.

I have finally gotten to see a couple Model Y's driving on the freeway and I think it looks great, especially in red. Actually think it looks better than the 3 from pretty much every angle. The S design is still my favorite though.

The Cybertruck if executed well will smash just about every annual sales record imaginable for trucks. They have over 650k orders already and probably 500k of those are legit. I'm concerned about it's size, but it is equivalent to the F150 which is the best selling truck today. Regarding branding, they are going to build the best cars possible without being tied to brand language or design guidelines.

The 3/Y used almost nothing from the S/X. The computers and some electronics, and that's pretty much it. The truck looks to be similar where it was entirely built from the ground up to push the market forward even more. With the latest Cybertruck videos, I noticed a few things no one else has commented on. There is no button to open the door from the inside. There is a odd shaped panel that is colored differently, and I think you will push on that to open the door cutting even one more step on things we do everyday and don't even think about. Even the window controls (a shared part for most cars) were redesigned for the truck and were simplified even beyond the 3. These are minor items but shows the insane apple-like level of attention to detail (in design, not QA yet unfortunately).

Considering Model Y or Bronco for next vehicle. Perhaps not the typical consideration set, but each appeals to me for different reasons.
