DOJ Moves Investigation Ahead On California Collusion With Automakers
The U.S. Justice Department denied politics played a role in its decision last year to open an antitrust investigation of four automakers that reached an agreement with California on fuel-efficiency standards.

The department said it had a legitimate legal basis to believe that the companies -- Volkswagen Group, BMW AG, Honda Motor Co. and Ford Motor Co. -- violated antitrust laws, according to a June 19 letter to U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I.

California needs a bull whipping that gives new meaning to vicious. After the Trump landslide, public enemy #2 needs to be California. Public enemy #1--Pelosi--needs to meet her ignominious end.

And before someone trots out the "Well the Republicans are against clean air." bullshit, this isn't about emissions. This is about imposing state laws which contradict federal law. Alabama did that once against blacks and it was call nullification (of federal law) and interposition (of state law). Then as now, Democrats were working against the best interests of the voters.

This seems to be the very same case the DOJ dropped earlier this year as it had no merit. What is it picking it up now? To stir up the base for Trump? If it was dropped before, it will be dropped again. The facts have not changed.

Maybe more evidence has come to light, but certainly California's recent rogue status hasn't helped. They don't like a federal law or regulation and simply declare it doesn't apply to them. That doesn't help their case at all.

Well this could all go away in November as Trump refuses to stop talking and stop tweeting.
