F-150 Revenue Second Only To iPhone For Branded Product Sales

The wildly popular Ford F-150 pickup truck with its family of Super Duty siblings is second only to the iPhone when it comes to branded consumer product sales, according to a new economic analysis from the Boston Consulting Group.

While the iPhone generated $55 billion in revenue to $42 billion for the F-Series in 2019, the F-Series generated more revenue than the National Football League, Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association and National Hockey League combined — which was just $40 billion, the analysis showed.

The Explorer was botched but the Aviator's launch went just fine.

Incorrect. It was resolved quickly. The Explorer had egregious issue. The Aviator didn't. The launch was pretty flawless. Product arrived and off the lot they went. When Lincoln pushed "play" product was inbound. When Ford pushed "play" on the Explorer, not only was very little product inbound, those that were in the pipeline had rather intense issues that slipped by during production. The production delay on the Explorer was catastrophic for sales. They've never fully rebounded for us. The Aviator on the other hand is a win/win.
