LEAKED: Kia K5 Pricing Comes Out - Are You Ready To Buy Two K5s Or ONE 3 Series?
Last month, the all-new 2021 Kia K5 debuted with more power, a more striking design, and all-wheel drive, as well as a new name. For the US, the new Optima has been renamed to the Kia K5 to match its South Korean counterpart. Pricing details were kept under wraps, but The Korean Car Blog has obtained documents sent to dealers that reveals the US pricing and trim details for the 2021 Kia K5.

According to the leaked document, the 2021 Kia K5 LX trim will start at $23,490 - that's only $100 more than the 2020 Kia Optima's MSRP. The LX version is powered by a 1.6-liter GDI four-cylinder engine producing 180 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

That $23.4K K5 is going to totally burn the 3 Series in fire with its amazing amazingness.

The next Rio has the Chiron in its sights.

no AWD with the EX or GT trims? Have to upgrade the EX and GT trims to get the Bose system? Probably gonna be a pass for me...

It seems like a lot of car for the price point and should compete well in that segment.

THe K5 is not even close to being in the same category as a 3 Series And Kia is not close to being in the same category as a Bmw as well. This is a ridiculous attempt at comparison = and meaningless. People Who want a prestige German Luxury car do not travel to that side of the city where the Hyundai and Kia dealers are. AND people who think that they compete with each other and consider a Kia really do so because they cannot afford the real thing.

Kia is entry level mass produced junk for the Used car salesman class - just below the school Janitor class. Even wit Genesis - Hyundai could not compete with the real thing. Who wants to be seen in a KIA? Certainly not someone who can afford a BMW

"...a prestige luxury German car..."
"...do not travel to that side of the city..."

see...that's the real problem here.

but if you chose the basic, cheapo 3-series over a fairly loaded K5 with AWD, then that's your biased choice. Or you just want the German junk. Be that kind of sucker I guess.

I'm sure the K5 is a fine car. It's not German and doesn't have the heritage. So those seeking the "prestige" of the roundel will not buy this. Those who want a car that's a good value and a fine driving vehicle will.

Why are all cars starting to look almost the same. Designers obviously have no originality and instead just copy others style.

The K5 looks like which other cars specifically...

You didnt say that when the 2020 Honda Accord side profile ripped off the 2011 Sonata and Ford Fusion.

You didnt say that when the 2004 Chrysler 300 face copied Rose Royce.

You didnt say nothing when the 2019 Rav4 side profile and the 2019 Ford Escape have the same greenhouse.

You didnt say nothing when the 2008 Volvo S60's tail lights and 2008.Buic Regal's backends copied.

Now all of a sudden it is a problem when a Kia is stylish.

If hiring the 2011 Kia Optima started the floating roof trend. But it's ok for Nissan to copy that huh?

Apples to lawnmower comparison. Peeps buy BMWs for the driving dynamics or to look successful. The KIA has NO clout and no chance of siphoning sales.

But the base 1.6T with the plastic wheel covers and the downscale plastic interior is bound be cross shopped with the M3, don't you think?
