The Unsung Hero? Mazda3 Turbo Debuts With A Torquey 2.3 Liter And 227HP
Mazda Mexico inexplicably revealed the Mazda3 Turbo on Monday even though the US division had a teaser video up, announcing a July 8 premiere. The US-spec model is officially making its debut, complete with a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine making 227 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque (420 Newton-meters) of torque. While that’s the same as the Mexican variant, these output numbers are available on 87 octane fuel.

I have always liked and recommended the Mazda 3 - which could be had with deeper discounts than a Civic - but It depends on how they are financed (The company) through the Pandemic. THere are going to be a lot of companies that are not going to remain. And Mazda is likely to be one of them.

Mazda doesn't have the resources to be competitive as a mainstream manufacturer. They don't have the resources to lead in EVs. Their strategy is to retreat upmarket, but like the Stinger, G70, CT4/5, XE, IS, and Q50 have shown, toppling the 3 Series and C Class is a fool's pursuit.
