How Would Snowflakes Survive If They Had To Drive Without Modern Technology?
Remember life before smartphones? What did you ever do while waiting in line without a scrolling feed of content in your hand? The same can be said of driving without traction control, navigation, and voice commands. It sounds crazy, but so many of us rely on these features that we have to ask: could you survive driving without modern safety tech?

I've been with people who rely totally on navigation and when a road condition--i.e. a closure--happens that the nav is unaware of, they cannot problem solve.

In the job market among people my age and younger, I continuously run across people who are consumers of information, but who cannot problem solve on their own.

They are implementers rather than thinkers.

And they get their itty bitty feelings all hurty wurty when you tell them to man the hell up and solve the problem or else.

"I don't feel you value me!" Well, at least they have that right.

Technology is amazing but a side effect is that it makes stupid people much more stupid.

I think the majority of drivers do just fine without modern safety tech as only a small number of cars in use actually have these features. Blind spot monitoring, emergency braking, radar cruise control etc just are not that common or a high % of the nations vehicles fleet. But nice try on Agent009 to stir up trouble. Glad you can always be counted on.

agree w/ Matt... Learned to drive in 1981. I think blind spot warning will make anyone who relies on it a worse driver. Now if you do what you've always done and look and also have this feature, it could help you when you screw up. I'm perfectly happy to navigate without turn by turn directions but GPH navigation is helpful compared with paper maps in an unfamiliar and busy area. Similarly, I do think that backup cameras and top down view cameras are helpful to avoid any obstacles in low speed close quarters. I'm against autonomous driving.

The pajama boi pussies who call themselves "men" these days, would be literally lost without their iphones and Sat Navs. They're too busy trying to be "woke" and falling over themselves to change their gender.

Sadly driving/auto enthusiasts are a small part of the population as illustrated by surveys which point out that 80% + of drivers rather rather auto pilot/sleep in their car than drive.
