VIDEO: Watch Telsa Model 3 Go From AutoPilot Mode To I Dare You To Hit Me Durango!
If you were to ask me my favorite option ever on a car in my lifetime the answer would be so easy.

AutoPilot and Intelligent Active Cruise systems.

Every time I'm in a vehicle with it I still am amazed. We went from sitting in front of a TV tube 50 years ago watching Neil Armstrong land on the moon and dreaming about what the future might be like to having that kind of personal tech in our lives.

But as cool and as good as it is, it is NOT perfect.

Here is video illustrating that. Watch the Tesla AutoPilot avoid the Semi but hit the brakes and the Dodge Durango ram it from behind.

Do you have it in your car and is it a must have option like it is for me?

Strange autopilot behavior, however the brake lights show the Durango had plenty of time to react and he/she were already cutting it close and closing in on the Tesla on a US highway (ie all kinds of drivers). To me the Durango driver is clearly at fault.

Durango was tailgating.

Tesla did what it was supposed to do. The Durango made an unsafe lane change.

Slam on its brakes? That's exactly what not to do.

That Durango drive should be arrested for attempted murder. I’m sick of a**holes like this idiot that put my family’s life in danger.

This is totally the Tesla's fault. There was nothing in the way ahead of it and it slammed on the brakes. It's too bad it didn't burst into flames and kill the unicorn who owns it.

Brakes weren't slammed and the truck was moving into the lane, going forward would have been a sideswipe risk.

WRONG! It's the truck/ tractor's fault, it was driving/cutting close to Tesla's lane. Watch the video at 0.12-0.14 secs. That caused the Tesla autopilot/ Intelligent Active Cruise system to slow down/stopped. Unfortunately the Durango was caught off-guard and changed lane at the wrong time! SOL!

The Tesla had tons of room to move left, and not hit the brakes.

Drivers don't realize that they can be held financially and criminally liable for accidents when using autopilot and other driving aids.

What's funny is this was a Model 3 driving behind another Model 3 that captured the incident.

The truck started moving into the lane, the Model 3 did 100% the right thing slowing down to see if it would continue going. Also it didn't slam on the brakes, it slowed down. The brake lights go on in a Tesla if the foot is off the accelerator not if the brake is being applied.

If this is autopilot then start class action now

The truck in the right lane crossed the line. May have caused it.

I am not a police officer, but if the driver ahead of you does anything, it doesn't matter. You did not leave enough space to stop your vehicle from causing a collision. The driver in front can hit a deer, sneeze, get a leg cramp or be blinded by the sun or a flipped up hood. You hit them with your car. Case closed.
May not sound fair in this situation, but it kinda is.

Shocker. A Prius riding the left lane.

Probably safest people in this whole escapade were the Prius occupants.
