BREAKING: Telsa Picks The Lone Star State For New Cybertruck, Model 3, Y, And SEMI Assembly Plant

It is official Teslas fourth car factory, its second in the United States, will be in Austin, Texas.

CEO Elon Musk made the announcement on Tesla's second-quarter earnings conference call Wednesday following a fierce bidding process that also involved Tulsa, Oklahoma and others. In the end, however, Travis County and a local school district's deal for more than $65 million in tax rebates over ten years won over the electric car maker.

Stock up to almost $1,700/share.

I'm listening to the investor webcast right now. Some other news:
- Austin won't just make the Cybertruck and Model Y as previously announced, it will also make the Model 3 and Tesla Semi
- Roadster 2.0 will be made in Fremont
- Tesla will start using several different types of batteries since that is one of the key manufacturing dependencies, starting with the Chinese Model 3/Y
- Full Self Driving is in Alpha running current hardware

Happy they chose Austin TX. But the town/county etc should not have given them a dime to locate there. If it makes sense logistically and from a hiring standpoint come. But don't ask any city or town to pay for jobs, or a stadium for that matter. Fund this investment from your own operations. That's what a business does. Not seek out corporate welfare...

In a free market, that is how it works. Not Communist Canada. The tax breaks provided will pay in dividends in terms of personal income tax, property development, and economic growth in new businesses.

Either you are dumb or very clever. The handout is being given to Tesla and nothing to the workers who would end up paying taxes for updating the infrastructure of the city. If Tesla was equally taxed, everybody wins. But your logic says let's give the handout to the corporate and tax the people.

Meanwhile, in actual real-world reality, California manufacturing has exploded upwards during the last 10 years. https://www.nam.org/state-manufacturing-data/2019-california-manufacturing-facts/

But don’t let facts get in the way of a good Ignorant ideological diatribe devoid of evidence and hindered by blind tribal allegiance.

Actually, all the big cities in Texas are blue.

It's the rest of the state that screws everything up.

All of the blue voters are leaving their overtaxed states and cities for red states that are more business friendly, Then they vote blue and can’t figure out why their taxes go up.

Tesla ran out of subsidies in CA. That's why it is moving on. End of story.

Without subsidies, carbon credits, etc, Tesla would not have a single profitable quarter in their 17 year history.

They are really more of a seller of energy credits than cars. Ridiculous for sure but it is smart in a way.

You're running out of excuses. First it was Tesla has never had a profitable quarter. Then it was, they can't do it 2 quarters in a row. Then they can't have a profitable year. Guess what, it's been 4 quarters, their automotive margin is a staggering 25%, and they are sitting in $1 billion in deferred revenue from Autopilot that will be realized later this year.

Tesla is smart. They're moving away from the high tax People's Republic of California. Of course they're taking advantage of Texas tax credits. And well they should. It's smarter for a state to offer tax credits and other incentives to attract jobs and investment, than for it to behave the the idiot Anna Occasional Cortex, who screwed New York out of thousands of jobs. It's the long term win, but that's not the way of today's liberals, who only fight for the immediate soundbite for their shepple.

Agree, right now they should seek out those federal teat sucking red states being subsidized by the blue states! Helps those red states keep their taxes artificially low. Smart move Tesla.

LOL the only thing blue states do is manage to tax more of their residents' income. Look how well it's working out for CT. Their govt threaten and carried out a huge corporate tax increase despite warnings that the states biggest employer would leave. When they passed those taxes, the employer, and others like it, LEFT. CT property taxes are out of control. Result, residents are leaving the state as well. Now the idiot liberals are finding that they have a huge deficit because there's not enough people and businesses paying taxes lol. Stupid is as stupid does.

Laugh all you want and stay ignorant if you want, but it is an absolute fact that red states get back much more than they put into the federal government while blue states get less. Some states like S Carolina are getting almost 8$ back for every 1$ they contribute. Also liberal Cali has the largest GDP of any state by a long shot at 2.6T$ and there are 3.9M small businesses making up over 98% of the businesses in the state and employ 50% of the workforce. You take away the taxes of NY and California and the Red states would be having a major melt down without all that govt money flowing in. Also if you really cared about deficits you would have opposed Trump. After Obama had brought down the annual deficit every year after the financial melt down/bailout the last Republican left us... Trump ran up the annual deficit from around 400B$ when Obama left to over 1.2T$ as of last year. Gotta love that good old time selective hypocritical outrage over deficits.

As for cities trowing money to business to come there, hardly capitalism using citizens taxes to attract businesses. More like corporate welfare. That should be illegal and the free market should decide. In addition it does not always work out and then the citizens of those places are left holding the bag. See GE and Boston or Foxconn and Wisconsin as fine examples.

The People's Republic of California has 40 million residents. So of course it's GDP is akin to that of a moderate sized country. To ignore that fact is just delusional. And it puts a death star sized hole in the argument about blue states being better fiscally run. The PRC has a massive pension fund liabilities deficit that has not hit yet. When it does, the state will be desperate for money to pay its obligations. They've been trying to repeal Prop 13 for decades now, because liberals always want to grab money for their pet causes.

As for Obummer's budget, he decimated our military in order to try and balance the budget. He emboldened our enemies and abandoned our allies. He is the single worst POTUS of the century. The man is a trained marxist whose campaign was fomented in the basement of the guy who started the Weather Underground. And now his administration has been shown to have been spying on and trying to fabricate evidence against Trump before the inauguration even took place. Obummer got an American Ambassador killed. Obummer got a federal agent killed with his operation Fast & Furious, and then hid it all under executive privilege.

The dimbulbcrat before him was a frequent flier on the Lolita Express. Perverts and criminals - that's what dims are.
