Military-wise that's what should be done, though it has nothing to do with copyright issue. Besides, how are you gonna stop copying from alliance, say, Korean car and phone maker?

Copy will never go away. Bronco itself was copy of Jeep and Land Rover back in 60's. All you can do is innovate and pursue betterness, and let the market decide.
