The WAR To Settle The SCORE! 2020 Corvette C8 Vs. Mercedes AMG GT63S Vs. Nissan GT-R
With an already proven track record on the Throttle House test track, Thomas and James put the 2020 C8 Corvette up against the proven and amazing Nissan GT-R AND the monster super sedan that is the AMG GT63 S. Brothers from different mothers but hey, its YouTube. And things don't always go as predicted. Watch to find out.

Enjoy the video and see the winner. AND as a bonus, enjoy the stereotypical Canadian accent throught the ENTIRE clip! He's a bugger, EH? ;)

Totally irrelevant except if you're racing for pink slips. On the track the GT-R wins for the first lap or two but then heat soak will kill it and the Vette will win. The MB is too heavy when you hit the corners.

Agreed, Vette is lighter by quite a bit, much better at the track (after reported understeer taken care of). Otherwise yea these tests are not relevant to anyone, and try to test similar vehicles that are designed for similar missions.

Understeer is preferable to oversteer for normal drivers. When drivers get in over their heads they hit the brake. An understeering car tends to go to neutral in that situation and the oversteering car tends to spin. Rotating an understeering car is as easy as doing to an oversteering car. If a person has a vehicle of this level and has not gone to a performance driving school they are idiots.

Point taken, I was referring specifically to the track comment. Normal every day driving understeer is certainly preferable. Lots of racing, although mostly motorcycles and many years ago :)

Mid-engined cars--despite their supposed better balance--can have some oversteer issues that destroy the balance. They can sometimes rotate far faster than an F/R.

That crew always behaves like ninnies. The Corvette is the one to have by far. When you factor in that the GTR is loads more expensive and loads more complicated--not to mention horribly dated--it's dismissed. It's not that nice of a car to drive and at the track you can feel the software working so the driving experience is not satisfying. The Mercedes is a beast, but it's more Mustang than Corvette. A Shelby Mustang GT500 vs the AMGGT63S would be a more appropriate match.

And the GT-R is loads more practical, e.g. usable trunk space, winter driving, back seats for children/small adults, etc. Add to the fact that it had 10+ years to iron out all the bugs and you have a supercar that is virtually bulletproof and can keep up with the latest dragsters as evident in this video.

It's a Nissan and everything breaks on it.

They were all within a hair's breath apart.

It would have been fun to have had the GT500 present.
