Elon Musk Says Their Mission Will Not Succeed If EVs Are Not More Affordable

Elon Musk has admitted that Tesla’s current models are too expensive and suggests that the electric automaker could release a new small entry-level model.

While speaking with analysts and investors on a call relating to the company’s second-quarter performance, Musk said the high pricing of Tesla’s models is something that needs to be fixed.

And big manufacturers have an advantage from the standpoint of amortization across multiple lines. The Ford/VW collaboration has tremendous potential to close the gap. The Model 3 is priced like an Audi, but is entry-level Sonata at heart.
