It's REAL: Genesis G70 Shooting Brake Caught Testing In The EU

After teasing the G70 Shooting Brake months ago, new spy shots provide a great look at the upcoming wagon. This one is testing in Europe and wears a fair bit of camouflage.

Things are immediately interesting because the front end of this vehicle wears the G70's refreshed look. The headlights look more like other Genesis products by having two, separated strips of lamps. While partially covered here, it's obvious that the grille has a broad shape at the top and comes to a point at the bottom.

Shooting breaks are super popular on car spy photo websites, but absolutely nowhere else.

If it were some Outbacky thing then maaaybe but Genesis is overpriced and the dealer experience is shit, so why bother if you're not going to play the game right?

Ummm...NO. Even where shooting brakes are sold, they are still niche vehicles for volume.

well apparently they're selling somewhere, otherwise car companies wouldn't continue making shooting brake/wagon designs and selling them, and those cars not coming over to NA.

Ummm NO. A shooting brake does not need to sell well because it's just different sheet metal on an already developed car. Because it's just different sheet metal on an already developed car, it costs pennies to bring to market, but each unit in the tiny niche is pure profit because the vehicle commands a premium price. Sales isn't the motivation. Incremental profit is the motivation.
