2021 Ford F-150 Limited Can Set You Back Over $80,000!
Remember when they said that upper trims of the all-new 2021 Ford F-150 would cost significantly more than their direct predecessors? Well, they weren’t kidding. While a barebones, base model F-150 was recently revealed to start at a reasonable $30,635, much of the higher-end trucks people will aspire to actually buy as personal vehicles—and the ones that have featured most prominently in Ford's press photography—will cost around double that starting price, if not much more.

I find an $80K pickup to be utterly ridiculous but I'll betcha they will sell just fine. The F150 is a great product, but $80K for a pretty pickup is just too much.

Totally agree with you and if some idiot is willing to pay for it, better for you.

The fully loaded F150s sell very easily. In fact, when we were allowed to start configuring future production again, we biased it heavily toward high end.

2020 Escalades are $100k. And the F-150's drive better by a mile.

What's the margin on that 80K pickup? 40,000?

These prices are getting ridiculous. Pick ups are easy to make as they are stamped and painted steel/aluminum and have much less parts than cars/suvs and offer the OEMs the biggest margins with the least competition. I was considering buying another F150 but will just get a utility trailer for the odd times that I have to haul lots of cargo.

I think I read somewhere that pickups account for 75-80% of Ford's profits. Can vehicle that you can sell from $30k but goes out the door at $80 is money in the bank in a big way. Supposedly the auto firms still make $10k a unit at the factory even at the lower price point.
