Musk Says If CyberTruck Isn't A Hit, Tesla Will Build A Normal Looking Truck. We Got News For You. He Will Build BOTH!
It can be a better sports car than a Porsche 911, a better truck than an F-150, and it’s armored and looks sort of kick-ass from the future. That was the goal, recognizing this could be a complete failure,” Musk told the publication.

“But I wasn’t super worried about that because if it turns out nobody wants to buy a weird-looking truck, we’ll build a normal truck, no problem,” the 49-year-old added. “There’s lots of normal trucks out there that look pretty much the same; you can hardly tell the difference. And sure, we could just do some copycat truck; that’s easy. So that’s our fallback strategy.”

Our Spies tell us he plans to build BOTH styles for different customers.

And it's been the plan ALL ALONG.

What say you Spies? Are we calling it before anyone else has figured it out AGAIN?

I give it almost a 0% change he'll build both types of trucks. It's pure aesthetics and the current build is both cheaper to produce and more efficient for range/performance. It's far more likely this will be a tremendous success (based on 800k+ preorders) and they will make a smaller version, which is the truck/post-apocalyptic vehicle I would really want.

Why do people claim electric cars are better for post-apocalyptic duty. This has a high assumption the power grid is intact.

Not really, if someone has installed solar panels. Then there's no concern if the grid still exists.

Not true. A person is ONLY off-grid when they have 100% cut the cord with an electrical provider because as long as they are connected, they are a power user. Having solar panels on your house in a grid-down situation does not mean that you have power to your house. You do realize that in some solar installations, you aren't directly using the solar you produce, right?

Teslas are just hats on skateboards, so this is hardly an impossible task.

As for Tesla 800k preorders...(1) that's what Tesla SAYS is the number, but even if that number is correct, (2) doing a pre-order does not require much commitment and (3) Tesla won't build the preorders anyway. They had 500K preorders on the Model 3 and then largely ignored those people when production rolled around.
