Is There Still Hope For Infiniti? 2021 QX55 Teased Ahead Of November Debut

The variable compression engine is strike 1. Strike 2 is Nissan's horrible CVT. The former isn't that fuel efficient in real world driving and there are emerging reliability issues. The CVT is a disaster with Nissan quietly replacing transmissions to quiet customers.

Yep. Agree with the comments. Not holding too much hope for this one. And styling looks like it's the last generation RDX. And I'm fearful the interior will follow the same Infiniti trend of putting fancy materials over a very aged design and functional layout.

Infiniti's design language isn't bad, but they're lacking a halo vehicle or even a distinctive, popular model like the G35 sedan and coupe were for them 15 years ago. The original FX, or "Bionic Cheetah" concept made a huge impression at the auto show back in the early 2000s. It was groundbreaking for the time. For Infiniti to succeed they're going to have to go back to being daring. Where's the next gen Leaf electric technology and why hasn't that made it into an Infiniti Tesla fighter?

The GTR should migrate to Infiniti given its price and limited sales. That would be the halo car.

Replace the Q50 with an EV sedan and call it the Infiniti Skyline.

Infiniti needs names along with much better styling.
