DiBlasio Who Is Chauffeured Around New York City In A Tax Dollar-Funded SUV, Tells People NOT To Buy Cars!
De Blasio — who is chauffeured around New York City in a tax dollar-funded SUV — advised New Yorkers Thursday not to fear the subways amid the global novel coronavirus pandemic.

He told New Yorkers Thursday they don't need to buy a new car. My advice to New Yorkers is, ‘Do not buy a car," de Blasio said. “Cars are the past”

This advice comes as the MTA faces a $16 billion deficit.

What's next. Don't have a NY Auto Show anymore because it's over for cars?

People are going to be walking from Brooklyn to Manhattan on a 30-below January winter day?

I mean even if you believed that as the mayor, would you alienate those people and businesses? Who by the way, pay HUGE taxes in a shrinking tax base with all those leaving?

Can someone be sent to jail for gross incompetence?

If so, Bill De Blasio needs to go.

In a universe of terrible American politicians, Bill De Blasio may well be the worst.

COVID will be cured 11-4-20

If Trump wins, the China virus is no longer a tool the fascist-socialists can use.

If Biden wins, it will be cured instantly with the bullshit inflated numbers suddenly corrected the the nothing that the China virus is.

If you get the China virus, your chances of NOT dying from it are 99.96%.

One can easily ignore the nonsense MATT has posted this time - which we already do mostly - since it comes from the least reliable source - a USED CAR SALESMAN

The chances that Covid 19 will be "CURED" by November simply do not exist
Even if they actually came up with a Vaccine that passes ALL the FDA testing requirements - the time it would take to manufacture the BILLIONS of doses far exceeds that nonsense You posted - Matt.

If anything - the numbers of actual Covid 19 Cases far exceeds the reported Figures - since Testing has failed to cover the population. In addition the death rate from the Virus far exceeds the claim you make - since it is based on ACTUAL Death Certificates - is between 3 and 5 percent in the USA - and as high as 10% in foreign countries. Since we have verified death statistics from most Countries - there is NO reason to indicate that the death rate is overstated by the amount Matt indicates.

Of course - one SHOULD get their information from Reliable Scientific sources - with clear medical training and credentials - and NOT from a Politician or a used car salesperson.

Funny, he wants them to ride public transportation. That's going to be a hard sell with COVID-19 around. Then again that is supposed to be an advantage of living in a place like NYC, you don't really need a car to get around the city. You just need a GT for long distance traveling.

DiBlasio is a known deeply incompetent liberal DIRT BAG, anti police, anti U.S. constitution, highly unethical, visibly corrupt, a total failure as mayor, and a generally hated politician in NY.

Just do not understand the N.Y.C. residents on just re-electing Mayor de Blasio? In his first term, he raised every ones taxes, create a homeless population, increase crime rate, murders and declare the city a “sanctuary city” among other things.

(1) De Blasio isn't even is real last name.
(2) When you're an Alt-Left fascist-socialist you believe "do as I say not as I do" is a virtue. #hypocrite

Considering the congestion and unrelenting traffic in NYC, it is not a shock for the city Mayor to say get out of your car use the subway, walk or ride your bike. Every big city Mayor has said this. Saying don't buy a new car it's the past is a new addition. Freak out if you want put if everyone is working from home your car will last much longer than you think as you won't be driving it nearly as much. And if you live in a big city like NYC, why bother replacing it? That's his logic.

@MD- He got elected Mayor. It's part of the job. Whatever benefits the city and its citizens. Just like saying wear a mask or shovel the sidewalk in front of your home and pick up after your dog in the park. Slow news day....

I realize that you're a fascist-socialist Canadian, but in the United States, elected officials are NOT elected to tell people what to do. They are elected to SERVE THE PEOPLE and bossing people around is not service.

I know it all seems different to most of you. But the USA is the odd man out here, Not Canada. 32 other nations are just like Canada with Universal Healthcare, reasonable gun laws with multiculturalism and respect for LGBTQ folks too. When we are asked to shelter in place or wear a mask for the good of the nation and the healthcare system, we do it. It's more about togetherness vs "I've got mine, go get your own" mentality that seems to exist mainly in the USA. If the Mayor says don't buy a new car, don't let it ruin your day....

@FAQMD- Quote links all you want. Canada is getting close to having no new cases, and the USA is getting close to 5M. The live free or die attitude is your undoing. And drinking Lysol or any other unproven remedy like hydroxychloroquine is for crazy people who don't understand medicine or epidemiology (the study of diseases and how they move through populations).

When someone incessantly is telling how they or what they have is better than you or what you have, we have psychological behavior that is overcompensatory.

The irony of such overcompensatory behavior is that the person truly believes they or what they have is inferior and they hope you won't see it if they fling enough bullshit.

Beyond that Communistcomments has a bigoted hatred for the USA. Disliking the USA is one thing, but his over-the-top stance is pure bigotry.

And remember he has let it be known that he will vote illegally in the US election in November.

I used to go in the city a handful of times a year, mainly for pleasure, a few times for work, but refuse to now. If my job requires me to go into NYC or any other liberal city that defunds the police, I will push back, or if I must, request I use private black car services. The liberals who now run my business will get hurt.

The man has no clue! However New Yorkers have no one to blame but themselves. Only 24% of all NYC registered voters went to the poles of which 60% chose DiBlasio. He was elected by 14.4% of registered voters. Shameful. You get the government you deserve if you do not vote.

@pugproud - Very true. 100m Americans didn't bother to vote in 2016. And you certainly got what you deserved. But a lack of participation in voting seems to be a issue in all Western countries. And it tends to only be valued by those in upper age groups. This needs to change. Mail-in voting may be the answer.

NYC's economy has gone to hell. Shootings and murders are skyrocketing. Homeless people are everywhere. Office buildings are empty. The MTA has a massive decline in revenue due to plummeting ridership. State and city income taxes, which are already some of the highest in the nation, are going to go through the roof to help make up for the $9 BILLION revenue shortfall New York City faces. Services have already started to be cut.

I wouldn't be surprised if New York City loses over 125,000 residents in 2020.
