Corvette Back On The Recall List After Discovery You Can Lock Yourself In The Frunk?
General Motors' first big recall for the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette is here, and to nobody's surprise, it has to do with those allegedly faulty front trunk—frunk—lids. It isn't, however, to address their issues with blowing open, which GM insists is the fault of owners. No, the recall is to address a problem where they might instead not open when they're supposed to—specifically when a person trapped inside is trying to get out.

That would be one tiny person in the frunk.

OK kids, no more locking yourself in the frunk for more than 10 minutes when playing hide and go seek until AFTER the update.

Damn Chevy we were rooting for you, was taking the engine out of the front of the car really so confusing to you, that the frunk now flies open at speed LOL!

Open a frunk on a C8 and close it, but is it? Slam it like you hate it and it will close. Close it like you love the car and it can pop back up. Most annoying.

You mean to tell me every other car on the road with a frunk doesn't have the exact same problem?

Nope. Frunk emergency release should work even when the car is asleep.

Or the 12V battery is dead. Alas it doesn't, when a simple latch can do it script kiddies have to add complexity and uncertainty into something that just has to work.
