Goodyear CEO Says Ban On Law Enforcement Outerwear Was Never Approved

Goodyear President and CEO Rich Kramer spoke out in defense of the company on Thursday following reports of a leaked audio reportedly recorded during a training meeting at a Topeka, Kansas, facility.

The audio caught an unnamed instructor saying that certain social causes — such as Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ pride — were appropriate to display via work apparel, but others — such as MAGA-wear, Blue Lives Matter, and items relating to supporting law enforcement — were not.

So, let's think this through, genius. The 8 Goodyear tires you cancelled didn't hurt Goodyear because the store you had planned to purchase them from had already purchased them from Goodyear. Thus, in the end you accomplished NOTHING.

It may not have hurt Goodyear now, but if enough folks stop buying their tires, their retailers will be ordering less inventory. THAT will hurt Goodyear. And a 7% drop in Goodyear's stock in the last few days certainly hurts Goodyear.
