US Investment Firm Buys Williams Formula 1 Team

American investment firm Dorilton Capital, known for its long-term approach to investments, is the new owner of the Williams Racing Formula 1 team.

 

The team will continue to race using its own brand and chassis name, with no plans for re-location currently underway. The acquisition had “unanimous support from the Williams board,” including Sir Frank Williams himself.

Between the cost of the team and its racing activities and the money that comes in from sponsors and F1, I'd love to know if a team at their level could be run profitably or not.

Short answer:
Without corona: YES.
As it is now all depends on them finding a few good sponsors.
The new rules for 21 (costcap introduced) and 22 (new car) should help them a lot.
