If The Pandemic Were A Car Design. Just When You Think China Couldn't Damage Our Souls Any More In 2020, There's THIS.
FAW Hongqi, China’s oldest and most luxurious domestic passenger car maker, has revealed their new FAW Hongqi H9 luxury sedan poised to go against models like the Mercedes E-Class, the Audi A6 and the BMW 5-Series.

Compared to its European mid-size premium rivals, even LWB ones like the E-Class L, the new Hongqi H9 has a larger footprint. Technically, it’s closer to full-size luxury sedans at 5.2 meters long with a wheelbase of over 3 meters for acres of leg room at the back.

Power is provided either by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with 252 HP and 380 Nm (280.3 lb-ft)  or a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 with 272 HP and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) driving the rear wheels through an automatic transmission, with the latter hitting 100km/h (62 mph) in an unimpressive for today’s standards, “just under” 8 seconds. Hongqi’s new H9 also rides on air suspension and offers a “Level 2.5” semi-autonomous driving system.

We ask, can you count the number of design copyright infringements in this ONE vehicle? After a while, you'll stop counting, we assure you.

No different than what garbage brands like Hyundai/Kia does. Hell all of Huawei is stolen IP from Nortel so what do you expect from the Chinese -the most unethical, deceitful trading partners ever!

If you patent a product all you do is give the Chinese a shortcut to knock off your product and undercut you severely in the marketplace. I use Chinese suppliers for certain complex aerospace machined parts that can’t be made onshore profitably anymore -it kills me to do that but would kill me even more and my long term employees to go out of business and no be cost competitive as all my competitors are fully offshore. I still do full assembly and make most of my own parts onshore. Sometimes you have to sleep with the enemy to survive though and live to fight another day.

Just when you thought it was impossible to make the ugly ass-end of the CT5 uglier, along come a Honkey to make it worse.

I kind of like how it looks. Maybe a bit of a try-hard for something in the mid-size class, but on a full-size S/7/A8/LS competitor, it might work.

China is relatively new to the car world, so you can't expect them to hit it out of the park this early on, especially compared to American or Europeans who have been doing this for over 120 years, and even the Japanese, who have been at it for 60 or so. Even the Koreans are just now getting in to a groove.

It's a little over-styled in my opinion, but it's not for me, it's for the Chinese market, and this is what they like. It wasn't made for you, not everything is. You can dislike it, but they won't even sell it to you, so you won't even have the opportunity to turn it down.

Compared to Europeans, Americans also have gaudy taste; look at the Escalade and Navigator. There are probably people across the Atlantic shaking their heads at us too for buying such cheap over-wrought trash.

This looks like anything else.,it may have features that you think evoke the looks of others, but you get that with most mainstream brands.

Be careful with those "Chinese" parts. Who knows maybe they have a timed released virus on them.
