Five Years From Today, WHICH German Company Will Have The Best And Broadest Line Of GREAT SUV's And Other Trucks?
With all the success of Tesla and the disappointing performance of Germans in the EV market in the USA, it's becoming clearer, the only win they can have short term is in traditional trucks and SUV's.

And between Mercedes, VW, Porsche, Audi and BMW, they all have decent products in the hottest market in America.

But no one can rest on their laurels.

So we have two simple questions for you.

WHO has the BEST lineup today and WHO will have the MOST success five years from today. In other words, who has the most promising pipeline in this lucrative market?

What say you Spies?

WHO are you putting money on?

Let me just dust off my crystal ball and I will answer Autospies ludicrous question.

Benz hands down

G Class will remain an icon
GLS already aging better than its polarizing rivals that will look tacky in 3 yrs
GLE/GLS off-roading suspension tricks are already being licensed to other manufacturers for future models
GLC remains the biggest hit in its class
GLB one of the fastest selling vehicles during the pandemic
GLA is joining one of the most awarded platforms already with the A Class Sedan/hatch/coupe family

Benz already has the most comprehensive SUV lineup. They cover almost every category, and maybe too many categories. They definitely have a leg up on BMW with the G-Wagen

Benz - BMW - Audi (in North America)
GLA - X2 - None
GLB - X1 - Q3
GLC - X3 - Q5
GLC Coupe - X4 - None
GLE - X5 - Q7
GLE Coupe - X6 - Q8
GLS - X7 - None
GLS Maybach - None - None
G - None - None
EQC - None - e-Tron

I think one area Mercedes might want to attack is the Bronco/Wrangler set, with a luxury offering. The GLB was thought to be a junior G-Wagen, but it's another crossover (that name needs to go away, it's dumb). Benz should build a junior G-Wagen with the ruggedness and off-road ability of the senior, with more luxury, starting at about $45k.

VAG owns VW, Audi, Porsche, Skoda, Seat, Bentley, Lamborghini etc. With that many brands producing different models I have to give it to VAG at the moment if your talking 5 years down the road.
