Teardown Expert Claims Telsa Model Y Leads The Industry Everywhere But Build Quality

When Sandy Munro started his analysis of an early production Tesla Model 3, he was aghast at the vehicle’s quirks, and he made his disapproval known. Munro did not pull his punches back, pointing out the vehicle’s build quality issues and outlining exactly what was wrong with the all-electric sedan. Yet as soon as his analysis took him beyond the Model 3’s bodywork, Munro found something remarkable: Tesla’s tech was beyond everyone else’s in the automotive industry, and it’s not even close.

By the time he was finished tearing down the Model 3, Munro was already quite impressed with Tesla. Everything, he noted, from the Model 3’s suspension down to its batteries was on point, and the company’s tech was insane.

The Chinese Model Y is coming out soon, let's see how their quality is from day 1. My guess is it will be near perfect from day 1. They should ship some people from Shanghai to Fremont to fix whatever is going on there with the Y.

Every time I consider buying a Tesla, I go to the Tesla forums and read all the complaints about the lack of quality. Then sanity returns.

I know a few people that had issues with their 3, the problems were all eventually resolved (one took a really long time to get perfect) and despite all the issues they would buy again. That's the real endgame KPI, what % will by a Tesla again. It's well beyond early adopters at this point and the stat is still in the 90s, higher than any other brand including Porsche (famous for their diehard customers).
