Nissan Says It May Take Another 4 Years Before The New Z Car Is In Showrooms - What Does That Tell You?
It felt like Toyota took forever to deliver the current Supra and now Nissan is taking its sweet time developing a convincing replacement to the current Nissan 370Z. A new prototype will finally be revealed on September 15, but we may not be able to buy the car for another three or four years.

The longer you stretch out the introduction the lower the buzz and sales will be when you finally do. Think NSX, Supra, etc.

Nissan take as much time as you need to get it right, don’t fumble the launch like Toyota did with their Supra

Nissan doesn’t have four years to get it right. They will be dead in two if they don’t start offering good products.

This is such BS. Auto Express has no credibility in this respect. (eyerolls)

European magazines generally know shit about Japanese product planning.

My secondhand knowledge via NTC Ann Arbor is very different. Contact there says MY 2022 for USA, Q3 2022 (November launch) Others say similar to me.

BE VERY CAREFUL WHAT YOU READ!

Current Nissan concepts/prototypes are thinly disguised production vehicles. Case in point the Nissan Ariya, not a whole world of difference between the concept and the production vehicles.

Since the new Z prototype is debuting September 15th it doesn't seem unreasonable that the production version is coming out a year longer. Looking forward to the new Z.

So we are now going to wait three years for a reskinning of the outdated 370Z?

They can call it the 400Z if the must, but it's your halo car, you can do what you like. It can be called the 240Z again much like Porsche calls the 911 a 911.

This so needs NOT to be a halo car but rather aimed at being a mainstream success. That would do much more for Nissan than some dumb-assed halo car like the Supra and NSX that sell poorly and imbue nothing on their respective brands. The reason that the Mustang and Corvette "work" as halos is that they are mainstream desirables.

would Nissan still exist in 4 years?
