Tesla shares tumbled Tuesday, after Elon Musk’s electric vehicle maker was left out of the S&P 500 by the committee that decides on new additions to the index.

Tesla shares closed down 21.06%, making it the worst one-day loss on record. Tuesday’s drop brought the company’s market valuation to $307.7 billion. The stock has been on a tear this year, having risen around 300%, and the company is now worth more than some of the world’s largest automakers, including Toyota and Volkswagen.

Sentiment has changed..reality is setting in...

...no apparent path to profitability therefore nothing to support stock price. Plus argument can be made that perhaps management is a little dishonest. Not good.

Here is a flash for all you stock Xperts. Stocks go up and they go down..and then up. Correction are normal and part of the market landscape. Tesla stock has always been volatile and that is good. If you don't take part than you don't monetarily benefit.

It's back up to $370. Think it will stabilize around $400 and has a potential to swing widely in either direction depending on what is announced on Sep 22nd. I'm worried the event is overhyped, but will be worth watching regardless. I wasn't able to get a ticket to go to the investor event in person :/
