Michigan Dealers May Start Devaluating Your Trade In Over That Reefer Smell You Left Behind

Although marijuana may be legal now in Michigan, it's still not legal to smoke and drive. But take it from the experience of car dealers and car cleaners - plenty of people still are.

Legal now in Canada, you tend to smell in more on summer nights when on the after dinner dog walk. Occasionally the smell will come from a car driving by. Not good.

They should devalue it. I would not want to buy a car smelling of it, just as I would not buy one that had a cigarette/cigar smoker.

If the car smells of smoke of any kind, we will not take it in trade because we refuse to be sued for selling a car that could cause second-hand exposure.

Used cars on dealer lots that smell like cigarette/weed smoke, sour body odors, baby/toddler puke, 3 yr old carpet milk, etc. are definitely a NOPE.

I'd rather test a fresh(er) smelling interior where the dealer paid for $100-$150 interior detailing BEFORE the purchase.
