Sebastian Vettel To Officially Join Aston Martin's F1 Team In 2021

After Sergio Perez’s shocking announcement that he will be leaving Racing Point at the end of this season, it is now official that Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel will take his place come next year, when the outfit will be known as Aston Martin.

According to Racing Point, signing the 33-year old four-time F1 champion is a “clear statement of the team’s ambition to establish itself as one of the most competitive names in the sport.”

The Aston-Martin F1 team is a team in name only. There is not an Aston developed part or engine in the car. Like sticking a Ferrari badge on a Yugo.

Aston Martin has been doing that for years with the Red Bull team which is powered by Honda. Nothing new here.

Didn't know Aston Martin had an F1 team.

Will SB be piloting the new Aston SUV around the oval?

I guess when Aston goes T*ts-Up in 18 months when money runs out, that it will be a nice memory to see AM for one season in F1.

No one cares. F1 is just NASCAR for the white wine and cocaine set

A bit sad to see. Perez was loyal and stuck with them. This year he finally got his reward as they have a car that can compete for podiums. No loyalty with the new owner Stroll. He has his vision and is moving ahead with it. If the DBX is a hit and the rest of the cars are sold optioned up as orders and not dealer stock items, maybe it will all work out. Time will tell.

Nothing wrong with white wine and coke, love them both! NASCAR on the other hand, all that circling about gives me some crazy vertigo...
