Volkswagen Believes It Can Out Produce Tesla By 2023

VW believes that it can catch up to Tesla where it matters when it comes to electric vehicles: mass production capacity.

The head of VW’s worker union believes that they can achieve a production capacity of 1.5 million electric vehicles by 2023 ‘or sooner’.

With Fremont factory and Gigafactory Shanghai, Tesla has two of the highest producing electric vehicle factories in the world.

Even though I find Teslas to look like Fusion caricatures, The ID3 and ID4 just are not enticing. The Model 3 is sufficiently nice looking, but the VWs are boring.

Appearance is subjective. I like the looks of the ID.3, and if a new review shows the production version, I like the ID.4 as well. Of course, I consider myself boring as well, so that works for me.

VW can put gas engines in them and rig the software. They already have the know how.
