CAR WARS! WHICH VW SEDUCED You MORE? CORRADO Or SCIROCCO?
The Volkswagen Scirocco is a three-door, four passenger (2+2), front-engine, front wheel drive sports coupé manufactured and marketed by Volkswagen in two generations from 1974 to 1992 and a third generation from 2008 until 2017. Production ended without a successor.

The Scirocco derives its name from the Mediterranean wind.

The Volkswagen Corrado is a compact four passenger (2+2), three door, front engine, front wheel drive liftback coupe marketed by Volkswagen from 1988 to 1995, and manufactured by Karmann in Osnabrück, Germany.

Designed by Herbert Schäfer,[1] the Corrado overlapped and eventually superseded Volkswagen's Scirocco model. 97,521 Corrados were manufactured[2] over the seven year production run.

So Spies, do you remember this pair? And if SO, which one seduced you MORE?

THere NEVER was any VW that "seduced" me. Italian cars - sure lots of them - even for a while GM had some real lookers. But VW vehicles were simply too conservative for Seduction - and as far back as I remember - even the Beetle was not a particularly reliable car - their claim to fame was that they were dirt cheap and easy to fix. However -Once the "Rabbit" came - they became 3 year cars - - and were not only unreliable but also incredibly expensive to fix.

If I am going to spend Porsche level prices for repairs - I may as well have one of them - and I never found the early rear engine ones to be compelling drivers.

I don't think Alzheimer's Tom even knows what the topic is.

Corrado was nicely styled and nicely sized.

Have always liked the Corrado. Particularly the VR6. They were overpriced when new, which hurt sales, but they've been appreciating in value over the last couple years.

I love the Corrado VR6 and it's a great car if you can find one. I've bought a couple and flipped them. The VR6 is a great engine that is strong and reliable.

The G60 Corrado is 100% a shit pile. The engine is horrible and it's not reliable at all.

After that I'd take a Scirocco I. Yes the Scirocco II was available with the 16V but the styling was hideous. The fat GTI that VW most recently called a Scirocco need not be discussed.

I liked them both, and came close to buying a new Scirocco in 1980. But children came along and neither were practical for us. The Corrado was an improvement in styling, and of course the Scirocco never had the VR6 to my memory. If I had to choose one of them today, I'd have to look closely at the interior because I honestly can't recall the interior of the Corrado, while the Scirocco was very similar to the '80 Rabbit diesel I picked up as a commuter car.

The Corrado's interior is best described as functional luxury. Very nice.

One of the oddest Corrados was a 93 VR6 I found that was fuchsia colored with a gray leather interior. Many seemed to feature the discordant combination of a beige interior with a green or black body.

Sirocco was a cool car. Corrado was kind of ungainly looking.

Clearly you never saw one in person.

I agree with Section, the Sirocco was the more sexy design of the two with slim pillars, larger greenhouse, slender nose, interesting rear glass treatment and was pretty swift in the later 16V versions. I always thought it looked like the athletic little sister to the Audi Quattro of the day. The Corrado although nice looking was more chunky and butch and the VR6 versions were quick. It always seemed an odd man out in the VW family to me so l I would take the Sirocco.

The first Scirocco is the only good looking one.
