EU Determined To Put Automakers Out Of Business - Wants To Change Rules And Tighten Auto Emissions Limits Even Further
The European Commission will propose that the European Union further tighten its auto emissions limits, according to a draft document seen by Reuters on Friday, prompting a pushback from Germany’s car industry, the region’s biggest.

Under the proposal, by 2030 the average carbon dioxide emissions of new cars should be 50% below 2021 levels. The bloc’s current plan calls for a 37.5% reduction over that period.

It would be an eye opener for EU if they added up the full economic impact of the automotive industry and level of investment at every level of supply, manufacturing, service and repair, retail and tax revenue generated.

They wont do that because it will give them a healthy does of reality.

Probably the most maddening thing of it all is you set standards then decide to change the game down the road with no concern of the impact.

Of course they want auto manufacturers to go out of business. The EU is headed by a bunch of activist far left socialist environmentalists. These idiots are trying to do everything possible to force people to stop using fossil fuels or any sort of planetary resource that's not renewable. And even then they're generally opposed to the idea of freedom and independence.

We're talking 10 years, at that point if companies aren't producing EVs and AVs as their primary products, they're done for. This regulation likely won't matter given that, but may help some companies thinking in the right direction now. The European auto makers, especially VW, are taking EVs seriously. If the weaker EU companies were smart, one would pick up Lucid asap and incorporate their tech instead of building it from scratch.
