He is a genius and a visionary. People with those traits generally have a disregard for rules...he needs to be surrounded by people who can channel those characteristics, but who can also stand up and tell him when he is wrong. For Tesla to move to the next level the C suite needs to be filled with such people, rather than those who just look the other way and let Elon do whatever he wants. Apple had the same growing pains, and truly rose to greatness after the return of Steve Jobs...at his return Jobs realized this and filled the C suite with people who kept him in check (ie. Tim Cook).
