Ferrari SF90 Stradale Plug-In Hybrid-The Ferrari For IDIOTS?

Ferrari SF90 Stradale Plug-In Hybrid-The Ferrari For IDIOTS?
Naza Italia has officially introduced the Ferrari SF90 Stradale in Malaysia. The automaker’s range-topping model arrives in the country priced from RM1.908 million (before duties, customisation options, taxes and insurance).

The company’s first series-production plug-in hybrid, which made its debut in May last year, derives its name from the 90th anniversary of the foundation of Scuderia Ferrari and the long-established link between the automaker’s track and road cars.

The powertrain combines a turbocharged V8 engine integrated with three electric motors, two of which are independent and located on the front axle, with the third – known as the MGUK (Motor Generator Unit, Kinetic) – placed at the rear, housed between the engine and the gearbox.

Just when you're certain Ferraris can't get uglier...

Brutal styling on the rear. Video game interior. Stupid name. The SF90 is the first Ferrari in recent memory where there is no chatter, no buzz and no f*cks given about this oddball car. Pretty much 1,000hp and nobody cares. No wonder.
I expect this to be a short lived model.

Pretty much tell you don’t travel in the Ferrari world. Owners can’t wait to get their hands on it.

Owners can't wait to get their hands on it because they think it's going to appreciatiate ridiculously in value and they then entertain visions of selling it for a killing at Barrett-Jackson. It's not because they like the car.

A) you don’t know $#!+ about Ferrari owners. B) if an owner of a Special Edition Ferrari tries to flip it Right away at Barrett-Jackson It will be the last special edition they are approved to buy. C) it’s not easy to get approved for a special edition allocation, it usually requires the purchase of a number of new Ferraris, to be put on the list for a Monza as a first time special edition Buyer, some customers were required to purchase up to 10 new Ferraris before acceptance.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out pretty quick that Ferrari's from the modern era with twin turbo, hybrid or BEV powertrains will never really appreciate in value. Only the naturally aspirated cars will, and the special editions amongst them will appreciate the most. Especially now as there may be no more NA cars. Just turbo's and hybrids. There will likely be a dividing line with the F458/TDF and the cars that came after them. The ones that came before will rise in value, the ones the came after it won't.

The Canadian is correct. As cars go hybrid and EV overall, in general ICE cars will increase in value and especially Ferrari ICE.

Really last time I checked the F40 was turbocharged and they built more F40s than any other Ferrari Anniversary model. Currently the 488 Pista another turbocharged car is highly collectible and currently selling above original MSRP.

BTW Ferrari built turbocharged road cars before the F40. Not that they are highly desirable but they built them for pretty much the same reason they are doing it today. Like everything in life the auto business is cyclical.

Ferrari does ugly as shit designs like this or painfully generic models like the Roma. The Daytona and the 512BB were simple designs but far from generic.

@foncool- This Ferrari was designed for Millennials. Who wants square tail lights? A light up steering wheel? A LCD dash? A goofy styled exterior? Squinty lights? Like @MD said if they buy this looking for it to be a good investment, they are getting very poor advice. Save a bit more an buy a used TDF. That will appreciate over time.

Millennials? Hardly, light up steering wheel/dash, have you looked at the inside of a modern F1 car? That’s what they’re buying.

I love it when old people attempt to speak authoritatively about Millennials.
