Walmart Commits To The SAME EV Semi Fleet That Bill Gates Says Won't Work - Zero Emissions By 2040

Walmart, which happens to be the world’s largest retailer, announced that within 20 years, by 2040, it will gradually replace its conventional vehicle fleet with zero-emission vehicles (globally).

The switch will include both smaller vehicles, as well as long-haul trucks. We remember that some two years ago the company ordered 40 Tesla Semi. Those might not be the only EVs that Walmart is waiting for.

Anybody can make these promises for 20-40-60 years into the future. And thats assuming no major global war(s) or disaster occurs during that period to interrupt the balance of resources for the company or for the countries they operate within.

But it would be nice to see how Walmart executes the use of EV shipping trucks in the US. There so many Walmart locations now, they can probably install their own set of charging stations solely for shipping vehicles.

@dumpsty - Good to see someone who is thinking about implementation and how the use case at Walmart will work. With so many locations, cross docking and having very likely their own charging stations, the range of these Semi's won't be that big of an issue for Walmart.
