Do These Politicians Know How Much Money Their Cities Will LOSE By FORCING People To Work From Home? Do They CARE?
A new proposal could require Californians to work remotely three days a week - even after the COVID-19 pandemic - to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to aid in environmental efforts. A number of Bay Area residents, including employees at large tech firms, were concerned over a new proposal approved by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission on Wednesday.

The controversial proposal would effectively ensure that sizable, office-based companies kept 60 per cent of their workers at home on any given workday to curb climate change.

Don't these politicians see the potential economic implications for their cities and how ideas like this will put them into PERMANENT decline?

Why EVER go there if you don't HAVE to unless it was just for leisure?

don't know about the clueless.

but what's more valuable? family/your health or jobs/collecting taxes & showing up at the office just for sake of being there?

if I'm faced with possibly getting a disease that I will either die from or me suffering major health complications from, I'd rather be TOO careful than careless. and if I'm out sick with COVID19 long-term, my company not paying may salary while I'm out sick. so, i'd rather work from home.

DickLess4Lyfe once again, has no clue about how most Americans make their living. Most don't have jobs that allow for working at home, unlike DickLess4Lyfe who lives in his momma's basement.

Slow Joe OTOH wants to increase our taxes by several trillion. He supports the domestic terrorists BLM and antifa. He wants to defund our police. His running mate, the real presidential candidate, openly supports the destruction of our law enforcement agencies.

Too bad for DickLess, Trump is now leading in most of the battleground states. He's crisscrossing the country campaigning while Slow Joe struggles to read his teleprompter at his choreographed news conferences. Just today Slow Joe claimed he has been in Congress for 180 years. He got confused and uttered word salad when interviewed by a very friendly far left talking head on PMSNBC.

But hey, you've always got your momma's basement to retreat back to when Trump wins another 4 years.

The San Fran economy will implode. Real estate values will drop from lower demand. Businesses will leave the city for other cities where they can still operate 5 days a week.. Restaurants and shops will go out of business from less commuters in everyday. That will equal more unemployed and homeless.

Firms let people work from home to be safe due to COVID. And now none of them want to go back full time to work at work. The barn door is open on this issue and it won't be closed ever again. At the big banks 30-80% of people will be permanently WFH in 2021. Only core and executive functions will remain. Real Estate held will be reduced to reflect this. New tenants will come into the bank towers. And life will go on. This will be the new norm. Get used to it.

IF Covid 19 is only a political threat - then vote it out of the country.
However - we KNOW that Covid 19 is a threat to the life and health of Lots of Americans - over 200,000 have already died of this political threat.

At this point - we do not have an effective treatment for - nor have a Vaccine against this "political threat" and that remains the first priority if we want our lives to return to some semblance of normalcy. I myself would prefer to stay alive, knowing that this is real and obvious Health EMERGENCY and those who continue to somehow choose to believe that this is some type of Hoax from a political party do not have enough sense to be listened to.

Certainly given a choice of highly qualified well Trained Physicians - and a Used car Salesman, a member of the LEAST TRUSTED group in the country for more than 50 years - with no apparent medical training - I choose people who actually have knowledge - the Physicians. I will continue to do what they feel will give me my best chances to stay alive and not spread this Pandemic to others - even if that means wearing a mask all the time, washing my hands regularly - social distancing, and limiting my exposure to others. THankfully, I can avoid the people who do not care if they live or not - and we also know that people who do not care about their own lived need mental help.

Once this threat has been dealt with - I will worry about WHAT the politicians want to continue - because we KNOW that is not likely to remain the same.

Our stance with employees is that we are not interested in them working from home in the absence of restrictions. If they want to work from home, they can find another job.

Covid is being used as a political weapon by the dhimocraps. There is in fact, an effective treatment for early state covid in the form of hydroxycholorquine with azithromycin. There have been multiple published international studies along with anecdotal evidence from many physicians who have treated the disease successfully. The one study that CDC used to discount the effectiveness of the medication, turned out to be a faulty study because it did not discriminate between early, mid, and late state disease. CDC had to backtrack and disavow the study. Now we're finding out that the data CDC has been reporting is also erroneous. Many many deaths being caused by other diseases are being reported as covid deaths.

The reality is, multiple vaccines are in the pipeline. Within a couple of years, folks will be either naturally immune (since some people do develop immunity) or they will have taken the vaccine.

200,000 deaths from Covid include people that had underlying conditions. The numbers were and are being pumped up to make Trump look bad. Wake Up TomM. Wake Up Sleepy Joe.

Covid is nothing more than a political threat? Precisely where did you get your degrees in Epidemilogy and Infectious Disease from??

So you are saying THE ENTIRE MEDICAL COMMUNITY is part of a left-wing consipiracy?

No worse than the common flu? Tell that to my neighbors who lost small children; the thousands of young adults with NO UNDERLYING CONDITIONS and the healthcare workers who were not in any position where they risked exposure.

How dare you make the claim that the thousands who have perished were exposed to a virus that is nothing worse than the common flu.

This is insanity.

Much of the media is conflating the true mortality rate of Covid vs covid in conjunction with co-morbidities. It's similar to the the common flu in that those who co-morbidities are at a higher risk. And yes, every year thousands of kids die from the flu as well. Add to that the fact that many deaths are being reported as covid - even things like automobile accidents, and it becomes exceedingly difficult to ascertain the true mortality rate.

The bottom line is basic safety precautions such as wearing face masks and washing hands are truly effective. Draconian shut downs of businesses has not proven to be more effective as evidenced by European countries that did not shut down but did rigidly enforce the use of PPE. The shut down of businesses at this point is nothing more than a political weapon wielded by fascist left wing despots.

When you remove the comorbidity, only a handful of people--relatively speaking--died of COVID. COVID simply isn't deadly.

The mortality rate of the seasonal flu is approximately 0.1%. The current COVID-19 mortality is still evolving but so far it lies between 3-4%. (stats from John Hopkins University).

So it is far more lethal statistically than if you get the flu. Key is both viruses can also lead to pneumonia. You can help yourself and your family greatly this fall by getting the flu shot. It should be available on October 6th or close to that date where you live.

And wearing a mask and washing your hands when you get home is a very good thing to do. But sadly not enough people are doing it and are instead going to social gatherings not wearing a mask. This is why the numbers have been spiking and why certain businesses have be closed or restricted again. If people followed simple rules the situation would be much, much better.

Um the stats from Johns Hopkins that you quote are OLD stats based on erroneous data.

The bigger difference is not the lethality rate, but that Covid is more infectious than the flu.

PPE makes a huge difference when dealing with flu or Covid.

The flu season is predicted to be a mild one because the precautions people are taking to avoid Covid also help to avoid catching the flu. But yes, please get a flu vaccine.
