Sources Reveal The FULL Details On The Tesla Model 3 REFRESH Coming SOON!

Tesla is making an update to Model 3, which is significant enough that people other than Elon Musk would call it a refresh, and we’ve seen it.

Over the last few months, we have heard a lot of rumors about a Model 3 update.

It started when Tesla updated the Model 3’s frunk and then submitted an application to produce the Model 3 with a chrome delete in China.

Shouldn't the Model S be refreshed first???

It should, but given how important the 3 & Y are they are going to get priority for everything. The S & X are going to be a tiny fraction of sales, they are marketing more than anything else.

The S should be reconfigured into a more traditional sedan form factor and should be aimed at the S Class. The X needs to get rid of the parakeet doors and not look like a giant hatchback but a Mercedes GLS alternative.

I like the S hatchback, but the X could probably use some normal doors.

Since when is a different color headliner, a new center console color, and no chrome trim a “refresh?” It’s a trim package at best, and that’s a stretch.

Quite a few changes:

1.) Chrome delete trim (which is actually completely different pieces, not a wrap)
2.) Entirely new console with USB-C, not just a different color
3.) New headliner
4.) New wheels that add more range
5.) New heat pump like the Model Y (could add up to 20 miles of range and severely decrease Winter impact)
6.) Automatic opening and closing trunk
7.) New double pane windows that reduce road noise

It's a surprising number of changes to do at once for Tesla. Think it will be part of their Q4 push.

Well now that it has a new headliner, count me in!!!

1, 5, and 7 are the big ones for me. I wish the headliner was black, but it looks like it's just going to be a bit darker

A "refresh" implies a mild resign to bring a 3 year old vehicle up to date in line with the rest of the market and to fix the know 'bugs' and design/quality issues with a particular vehicle.

Aside from the Model S facelift (which improved the Model S' appearance) when the Model 3 was launched, Tesla appears to be pursing the 'Apple Model' - updating some software under the skin to address bug fixes but leaving the appearance and tactile user experience alone until somebody wants to buy a completely new model.

The Model S is like the 'iPhone 5S' to the Model Y's 'iPhone 11'. That would make the Model Y to be like buying a re-manufactured 'iPhone8 Plus' from ATT's website.

Curious how the model rollout go from here.

Corrected...(when can Autospies have an 'edit' feature?)

Maybe they can fix it so the roofs don't fly off.

The Tesla design theme is really getting dated and overused. Nothing about them is exciting.

Styling the Model S to look like a bloated FusNata was dumb.
Styling the Model X to look ungainly and lard assed was dumber.
The Model 3 looks OK but it's a stand-still design.
The Model Y looking like a bloated hatchback rather than a crossover was dumbest.
