I'll tell you this has been the longest 15 days to 'slow the spread' of COVID.

Remember when that was the WHOLE POINT of the lockdowns?

THEN, all of a sudden, because it's an election year, the political infighting began!

And here we are in October (one day before my birthday, not that you asked) and it's no LESS crazy in many parts of the country. And I, as one, like many others, are SO over this.

So when I saw this meme it hit home as a car person.



And when you look at it through this lens, it seems to hit home even harder. Would we EVER go THIS nuts over ANYTHING else?

The purported purpose of shutting down the country for 3 weeks (which has turned into months) was to "flatten the curve" so that hospitals were not overwhelmed. That has been accomplished and yet people are still being prevented from working and even practicing their religion. The truth that they will never admit to is that they are actively rooting for economic disaster and hardship to score points against the president in order to put Joe Biden (of all people) in office. THe FACT is COVID is not over - we have no approved effective treatment - And there will be lots of COVID related deaths in the future due to complications of having had it.

And UNTIL we do have a Vaccine and Treatment (WE will need both for a couple of years) - it is not a political subject - it is a World REALITY. ANd if you do not want to get it - and you should not - THere is no CHOICE here.

ANd there is NO CHANCE the country will return to anything near normal until COVID is controlled If they cannot protect the President and his staff from getting it - how do regular citizens stand a chance?

Latest CDC stats as of 10/9. Total US deaths from all causes since beginning of covid: 2,167,730. Total deaths from covid 200,499 (9.2%).

In other words, a person in the US is 11x more likely to die from anything other than the virus. And the deaths are heavily skewed toward older people. Young people are effectively immune.
