VIDEO REVIEW: WHICH One WINS The SHOWDOWN? 1964 C2 OR 2020 C8 Corvette?
See the epic showdown between Toxic Garage’s 2020 C8 Corvette and the RestoMods 1964 C2 Corvette. Who wins?

Our friend Alex Lawn brought his custom 2020 C8 Corvette by the shop for a photo shoot and we had to go out and do a little racing between his new Corvette and our old one!

Which one IMPRESSES you MORE? 1964 C2 or the NEW kid on the block C8?

I'd much prefer a 427 C2 than a C8. The interior of the C8 is a total turn off for me in person. It's ugly in every way. Dynamically, the C8 is obviously the better car, but aurally and experientially the C2 is the wonner.

Not a collector of vettes - even though I have a very early one.

If I were - I would get the C2 first - because they just get more expensive
But of course you need a C8 as the First of its Kind. But they will be available and I prefer second year cars.

AS a Driver - the C8 will be just so much better to do so.

It would depend on the condition of the C2 if I would use it on the Road though. I have a bunch of cars that will not see real roads while I have them. And at least one that will likely NEVER see real roads again (THe 250GTO is just too expensive - even a Ding would cost a fortune)

Is the 250GTO parked next to your Chrysler minivan with the transmission you are going to rebuild on your kitchen table?

This is a no brainer. I'm not interested in the C8 at most any price.

The lad down the street from my house buys and sells cars. Hummers, 1960's Camaro's etc. Like @MD everything has a price and he is not emotional about selling off part of his small collection. He built up a Hot Wheels Corvette as best I can tell. Early 70's body with a big block motor and a blower that sticks up way above the hood. It is purple in colour and only comes out on certain Sundays.

The way I look at it is that there will always be another car to enjoy. I soooo want a Hennessey Exorcist and got close to getting one twice and have talked by way out of it, but no more. Sold two cars to make room. I'll keep you posted.

I told my wife I wanted one and she said what are you willing to give up. Bye bye Z06--it sold this time--and GT350. She was surprised it wasn't another TVR or a Jensen.

The c2. I did not even have to think about it. Love that body style.

Matt: I had to google Hennessey Exorcist. Do you need to be trained to get the "Max" out of that car. I would kill myself and others if I got behind the wheel.

I've had performance training and update every two years.

My dad's husband is a Yenko nut. He has a fake Yenko Camaro I built him. He would love an Exorcist and he shit himself when I told him.

I can't wait to enjoy it on Highway 111 on the east side of the Salton Sea and stop in Bombay Beach and commit a few felonies at the Ski Inn assuming the Covid bullshit is eased by then and have some patty melts.

Then rumble into the desert home in Salton City on the way back and scare the meth heads and get shit faced on martinis. Duke, my father's partner's nickname, wants to have a Camaro day.

He forgives me for my Ford passion when I dabble in Chevrolets. I have a 67 427 Corvette.

I am a Ford guy..... but that 67 427 Corvette should be in my driveway and not yours ... LOL

Would you like a 67 coupe or a 68 convertible?

We have a project car space in Tucumcari for future flips and on hand right now--in addition to 60s/70s pickups--are a couple of late 60s Corvettes and Mustangs. The Corvettes will get 427s and the Mustangs will get Cobra Jets and the Shelby look. We have a couple of 914s for conversion to 914-6s and two 944s that will be LS converted. There are also some Jensen-Healeys in horrid shape, but revivable. Because there is no way to restore them faithfully and make a buck, we'll do V8 conversions. I threw a V8 into a Jensen Healey and my TVR buddy from Blackpool came to the states for a visit and I had to show it to him. He was appalled that it wasn't stock. Then he drove it. It wasn't for sale, but he bought it anyway. A couple of his TVR friends want one now too LOL. I'd like to get another TR7 or two as well.
