WATCH: Corvette Z06 Vs Mustang Street Race Predictably Ends Bad

Mustangs have got a bad rep for being crash-prone. However, as the driver of a C7 Corvette Z06 who tried to race a ‘Stang found out the hard way, things can go equally wrong in any car if you push beyond your limits.

This clip was recently filmed in Grafton, Illinois during what appears to be a local driving event among enthusiasts. A number of Mustangs can also be seen alongside the Corvette Z06 and, before long, a dark red Ford Mustang and a second car, which is blocked from view, line up alongside each other for an illegal rolling drag race.

Given how well the Corvette is designed NOT to go out of control, that bastard would be dead in a TVR. The loss-of-traction side step demands quick steering wheel action.

This is progress. The Mustang wasn't the mess up. But (1) street racing is for assholes. (2) I guarantee the Corvette driver does not know how to drive a Corvette. (3) Corvette guy could probably have accelerated "gently" and still beaten the stick axle Mustang.
