Arson Rumors Fly As Swedish Tesla Store Goes Up In Flames

At least seven Teslas were destroyed after a fire ripped through a Tesla store in Malmö, Sweden.

 

The incident happened earlier this week and while fire crews quickly attended the scene, they were unable to save the burning Teslas. Fortunately, the flames were extinguished before they reached the building itself.

Gee..it's tough to allege arson when the brand's vehicles have shown an occasional propensity to burst into flames!

Notice there isn't a single Model 3 on that list, which is what is primarily sold there. Should also note "more than 170,000 vehicles, including both electric and internal combustion cars, caught fire between 2014-2016."

Yeah...but I wonder how many of the 170,000 vehicles which caught fire between 2014-2016 were less than 4 years old?

What's the percentage of the total installed base of ICE vehicles that caught fire versus the percentage of EVs in current use that caught fire? That's a key statistic.

I lived in Malmo for 3 years. I'm confident in saying it was arson without knowing anything else about this incident.
