Volkswagen Move Control Of Bentley Under The Leadership At Audi

These are very challenging times for the automotive industry, and watching the moves made by the major players is very interesting and telling of the challenges lying ahead.

Take for example the latest plans of the Volkswagen Group. CEO Herbert Diess is reportedly planning to put Bentley under the direct control of Audi. Much like Lamborghini, the British super luxury brand would be coordinated by the head honchos in Ingolstadt rather than Wolfsburg.

Kind of like if GM made Corvette or Hummer a brand and put it under the leadership of Buick.

Honestly, Porsche should run Bentley, Lambo,and Ducati and VW should run everything else, including Audi.

Maybe Porsche should run Audi as well? The Porsche brand is the best managed brand in all of VW.

Audi pulled Lamborghini out of decades of losses into a very strong brand capable of standing on it's own. They want Bentley to be the same.

@Agent009 - Can't argue with that logic or those results. Like Aston Martin Bentley should be doing cars to order only. Upsell buyers on the customization options and encourage them to look at getting a special order limited run model or recreation worth millions.

Porsche quality is the best of the VW group..that's why all the luxury/prestige brands should be under Porsche. Porsche makes lemonade out of the crummy VW parts and runs their factories well - Audi/VW put forth rotted, malformed lemons.

Lamborghini will be IPOd but still tied to VW, it’s the Ferrari model that everyone wants to replicate.
