Battle Of The Weaklings? 2021 Lexus IS Vs 2021 Acura TLX - One Needs To Be Put To The Pasture
Let's be honest: The Germans still dominate the compact luxury segment. Those companies have been building sporty sedans for decades and doing it very well. But there's enough room in that class for brands like Lexus and Acura to emerge as very enticing alternatives, and the pair has proven that over the years with their two most-notable offerings, the IS and the TLX.

A bit embarrassed at the lazy effort of Lexus and baffled by their constant inability or unwillingness to offer more potent engines. It's always been a great handling car with solid steering, but the rest of the car is a letdown.

Regarding the Acura, while I haven't driven one yet, its interior really is a nice place to be and its styling stands out in the real. I'm confused why Acura felt the need to move the exterior up to this size as it does feel (spacially) like a large car, though most reviews state it feels small in the handling department.

No, neither are as good as the Germans' entry-level offerings in this class. But they also still undercut them by thousands of dollars and likely offer better reliability.

Waiting for the Type-S to come out and see what it's got.

Acura doesn't look bad, but its Audi-like FWD/AWD platform is just not convincing

Lexus can use a new way of delineating that grille. Getting boring

I'd rather have the IS, but it just isn't worth the price of admission. A Stinger or a G70 make more sense vs the Accord in drag,
