Xiaomi To Launch An EV Supercar Ahead Of The Tesla Roadster

Xiaomi might be the latest carmaker to steal the limelight from the long-promised but still unavailable Tesla Roadster 2.0. Spy pictures shared on Chinese social media show a sporty supercar with the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra's design cues and a huge wing. Speculations abound that the supercar might feature Xiaomi's 2,054-hp quad-motor propulsion system unveiled in 2024.

  

For almost a decade, Elon Musk has been promising the second-generation Tesla Roadster. The electric supercar was unveiled in 2017, alongside the Tesla Semi, but has been vaporware since then. Recent promises included "epic demonstrations" and a "second unveiling" on April 1. That was April Fools' Day for Tesla fans and especially those who paid a $50,000 deposit for a Roadster.
