VIDEO: See The Facelifted 2020 Audi Q7 DETAILED Inside And Out — Does This MAJOR Update Make It Much More Competitive?
Today, buyers have a plethora of options when it comes to luxury sport-utility vehicles. Frankly, a lot of it comes down to subjectivity.

Which technology do you like best? Which styling do you like best? Which SUV has the ride quality you're looking for?

Stuff like that.

In my humble opinion the Audi Q7 was already starting to look dated. It was just too sterile of a design for its own good. On the inside its interior was OK but not bowling me over. And its infotainment display was way too small.

For the 2020 model year though, Audi has launched a refreshed Q7. And the changes are pretty damn big.

On the outside it gets a revamp of its facade that makes it look more like a Q8. And all around the SUV you'll note a two-toned look to make it look more rugged and truck-like — it's a visual trick since the Q7 looks more low slung like a station wagon.

When you slip into the cockpit, it clearly has lifted the Q8's interior. That translates into more screens than one could imagine and, of course, they're quite sizable.

All that considered, I've got to ask: Do YOU think this major update has made the Q7 MUCH more competitive in its class?

Not sure where the base Q7 will be sold but he said you get an analog instrument cluster. At least you want get into go for a drive one day and be faced with a dark screen due to a dead LCD panel.

The face is wanting to be garish and blingy like a Lexus, but runs scared of really "gong there" so it just comes off as ugly. Those wheels are laughably hideous. That is grafted onto an utterly dull body and the clash is terrible. The interior is quite nice, but when you see it, you wonder why the exterior is so uninspired given how sublime and perfect the interior is.

@MD- Yep. Right on all counts. But what would most drivers rather have? I think a 10/10 interior and a 6/10 exterior is ok to live with. There are likely other wheel options too bringing the whole package up to 7/10.

I agree. I do not think the front looks better than before and the rest looks bland, not bad, but does not seem premium. Hopefully it looks better in person.

@CC I'd rather have a 10/10 exterior.

as long as that fake butch trim on the lower sections is optional as implied by the video its a decent upgrade minus the pitiful fake exhaust. its the segment leader for a reason.

I think I threw up a little bit in my mouth. This is awful. It does not look premium anymore. Stick a VW badge on it and it wouldn't look wrong. The previous gen Q7 had an elegant look about it. This looks clunky, and chunky, and funky all over the place.
If I'm shopping in this class, easily the GLE and X5 would be the choices. If I really need a 3rd row with decent room, I'd stretch for the X7 or GLS. I'd even live with the XC90's powertrain or the MDX.

And I'm not sold on the interior. It just feels cold, like a Tesla.

You nailed it. It could easily pass for a VW.

VW has lost interest in Audi and has stated as much publicly.

The Cayenne is still the best vehicle VW builds on this platform (Touareg, Q7, Q8, Cayenne, Bentayga, Urus, Atlas). Audi made the Q7 worse with the refresh.
