Did you refer to the founding fathers of GE and Tata and other multi-vertical conglomerates as having "ADD"?

No, but they were incredibly focused and this is why we know, GE, Ford, Apple, etc.
Elon has an incredible list of unfulfilled promises. Solar panels, nope. Boring Co. and hyperloop - just a narrow crappy tunnel to drive a tesla car through (Chicago cancelled their Boring project after not being able to deliver what was promised). Making Tesla profitable - nope.
Elon is a flim-flam con man.

Yup battery exploding mid air. What could possibly go wrong?

I'm not an engineer, but my immediate thoughts would be 1) Batteries are heavy and weight is an even worse enemy in a plane compared with a car. 2) If we have trouble storing enough energy density in current batteries to get range for a car to 300mi, the range for a battery powered aircraft which has energy consumption far higher than a car, must be extremely limited. 3) I suppose a plane could have solar panels on it's surface for some charging/energy recovery but can't imagine it could provide enough juice to keep it flying without energy stores. 4) A car with a dead drivetrain is stranded and waiting for a tow. An electric plane is a glider which will crash if there is no place to safely land.

Given that Tesla does no engineering and prototyping, anything is possible.

If Elon gets involved with electric planes, it will likely be through a new company and not Tesla. He also said it would take densities of 400 kWh/kg and we're only around 300 right now for the best batteries--it will be a while.

The great thing about gas engines in planes is that the oxygen part of the energy is weightless and everywhere.

I cannot think of a worse fit for electric than aviation. Eventually the density/economy equation will work some day, but the first ones that squeeze past that equation will be the worst dogs to fly since the 1920's.

At higher altitudes electric motors get a little bit of an advantage. It would be great to have high-altitude supersonic flights as an option someday, electric motors and batteries are going to be the best way to make that happen.

Don't you really mean a Tesla drone?
