I owned a 6-speed 1st generation CTS-V for 3 years. The engine was great and the tranny sucked. Had to go aftermarket to bypass the skipshift feature that forces you to go 1->4 in certain circumstances. The 2nd gen CTS-V had better acceleration and higher top speed with the auto tranny c/w the manual. Wouldn't buy a GM product with a manual. Come to think of it, I'd rather not buy any GM product in this day/age.

Wouldn't be surprised if the number of manual transmission buyers is much lower than anticipated despite the enthusiast appeal.

Gee - this has the potential to add several PAIRS of cars to their sales volume - and can hardly be called profitable.

Unless it is among the best manuals on the planet, why bother. It will likely be off the shelf/compromised.

I love manuals, but the simple reality is that today automatics offer more cogs and can shift as fast or usually a lot faster than a human being. Today the set up to have is an automatic with paddles.

What's the point. They will sell maybe 2 of them if they are lucky.
