Hyundai Prepares A US Built Truck To Enter The Market - Who Should Worry?

Hyundai Motor Co. expects to enter the U.S. pickup market soon with what’s likely to be an American-made vehicle aimed at luring buyers who aren’t traditional truck owners, an executive said Monday.

“It’ll be a very versatile vehicle,” said Michael O’Brien, vice president of product, corporate and digital planning for Hyundai’s U.S. unit. “That has the promise of creating a whole new class of buyers.”

I'm pretty sure Hyundai confirmed they would eventually build a version of the Santa Cruz concept. I'd assume they'd be doing a 4-door pickup in the same vein as the Ridgeline but with a bit more flashier styling for the exterior. Not everybody wants a big-azz truck. But this will be quite interesting to see how it turns out.

Ford's doing one too and will most likely be sold as a Courier.
