Worried The 2020 Corvette Isn't Fast Enough? Watch THIS Nürburgring Video And Find Out The TRUTH

With the official unveiling of the Chevrolet Corvette C8 just eight days away, more photos and videos of its camouflaged test mules along with leaks showing "the real deal" are beginning to hit the web. Most recently, YouTuber Carspotter Jeroen caught a C8 prototype being hustled around the Nürburgring Nordschleife in pretty hard fashion. This made us wonder, could Chevy be going for a production car 'Ring record?

The video captures the new Corvette at different sectors of the “Green Hell,” but more importantly, you get to hear its new mid-engine V8 get put through its paces.

If you think GM would invest billions to build a rear-engine performance car that is less-capable than the C7, then you must be snorting something really strong.

The 1st comparo will be to put the C8 vs the C7. Then test the C8 vs all other "brave" competition on both the street & track.

Plenty fast. Plenty ugly.

Typical GM: the Corvette will arrive with excuses. It will be 80% ready. An update will come in two years to fix issues that should have been solved in prototype form. By then the bloom will be off.

I don't believe anyone would believe that the Corvette would not be able to be fast enough. GM has always used its highest output engines in the Corvette and this one will not be any different. I am sure you will be able to go at least twice(and maybe 3 times) the posted speed limits.

I also believe that the obvious delays over the last few months have been due to testing showing things that need to be addressed - GM knows it cannot introduce an FCA Quality car - even if BMW and Mercedes overall are not reliable as well. I think with the limited production of the Corvette to begin with - it will turn out to be much better than most Hand-made exotics out there - at a price they cannot match. And of course - GM will be able to sell EVERY One they can make for months if not the whole year.

And as far as C8 vs C7 - GM knew that moving to Mid-engine would have to be justifiable in performance - and I am sure the will at least get that one correct.

What a stupid comment: "...GM knows it cannot introduce an FCA Quality car..."

GM has a long history of putting out cars with egregiously bad quality.

The C8 Corvette production was delayed because the electrical system was buggy and had a tendency to fry itself.

When they were working on the Z06 version of the C8, the torque of the engine bent the chassis.

@MD- There you go using facts to try to make a point. That does not always work on Autospies....

@CC With TommyDementia whatever ignorant opinion he has--he thinks--is fact. That's what we're up against with this gem.

I don't care AT ALL. 0-60 in 1.5 seconds? WHO CARES. Quarter mile in 7 seconds. Couldn't care less. I buy a car for looks and performance. The proportions for that thing are hideous. You could not give me one, and I have loved Corvettes for years.

How many NSX's were sold? 170 total? How about the Acura R8? 970 total? Both ugly. Both bad proportions. The Corvette will be dead within 3 years.

I hate to agree with bmw7er because I want the C8 to be successful but you are correct!
