LEAKED! The 2021 Acura MDX Gets FULLY EXPOSED And An All-new Mystery Sedan Is REVEALED For The FIRST Time...
It's unbelievable what inquiring minds can uncover.

According to an Acurazine forum user "rdx.god," they stumbled upon an amazing find. While looking through images from software onboard a current-gen RDX, it seems an owner hit the jackpot.

That's because the RDX's current software has images of the 2021 MDX on it. Also, there's a mystery sedan that I would guess will replace the current-gen TLX.

Yahtzee!

This has become an emerging trend. As infotainment displays get more sophisticated and show images of your vehicle or of a placeholder vehicle, sometimes the automakers reveal a bit too much. This instance is particularly unique since the easter eggs are actually of other products in the pipeline.

So, behold the 2021 MDX and Acura's latest mystery sedan.

**See the FULL collection of images via the link below.

...I was digging around images in the com.android.systemui package located on the RDX, loaded it into android developer toolkit, and low and behold, they have had images of the unreleased 2021 MDX on our RDX this whole time.

It is definitely different then what is currently released, and it fits the look of what they have leaked so far but with covers over the car.

I do not think Acura meant for any of us to see this quite yet. Feast your eyes on the 2021 MDX, you are the first to see it, sorry to spoil the fun Acura...

Also I can tell some of the new features that are possibly going to be released from other images in this file.

They needed to build the Precision Concept. Instead, they are going with more boredom.

Mdarringer: are you aware that you never have anything decent to say about any new car that comes out? Every single one of your posts is a nasty personal attack about anything that is new or anybody who likes what is new. You really are just an unhappy miserable old creep who projects his sour nasty disposition on just about everything. Get a new life, curmudgeon. Go join the trump re election campaign, you totally belong there.

I sugarcoat nothing.

I don't think car companies are consistently trying their hardest and doing their best.

Unlike you, I don't buy into the culture of low expectations.

Consumers have the right to expect excellence and praising mediocre designs is exactly how to encourage manufacturers to create more mediocre designs.

I couldn't care less what your opinion is of me, Felicia.

But I am HARDLY the only curmudgeon here.

In fact, most of the people here ARE curmudgeons who are extremely rude to each other.

It's par for the course, honey.

Ummm...you have reading comprehension problems as well or is it that like your Orange Moron leader, you just simply can't read? I said this about you and you prove my statement true with every post on Auto Spies:

Pentupnrgy: You really are just an unhappy miserable old creep who projects his sour nasty disposition on just about everything.

Like GM, they are using styling cues from the concept, but missed on the proportions and surfacing that made the concept great.

The gap between the leading edge of the front door and the front wheel well is very large for a FWD car. It looks more like a rwd in profile although the x-ray image seems to show a transverse engine. Thoughts?

Offset crash safety is the likely culprit. That space could be use for crumple zone deformation.

It could also be a crass stylistic trick too.

I think you are right. The Mazda 3 is the only fwd car that has a similar offset. Plus the front overhang on the sedan looks fwd.

Wow, Mazda CX-9 much???

The sedan reminds me of a Hyundai Genesis G80.

So all together, unoriginal and outdated already.

Very little resemblance to the boring CX-9

I've had five Acuras and enjoyed most of them. I'm currently in an MKZ that comes off lease in a year, and would like to consider the next gen TLX (recently drove a current one... it still looks good but feels very dated).

This new TLX looks.... fine. Kind of like a G70 which looks like a current TLX. Nothing objectionable.

To leverage their platform investments, I'd predict that the drivetrain and interior of the current RDX will be copied to the TLX, although I'd really like a hybrid (or at least mild hybrid) powertrain.

That said I have no interest in being one of Acura's beta testers. Check out the owners' forums for the 2019 RDX; it is one of the most trashed vehicles I've ever read about. While some members are reporting engine and transmission issues, many more complain about the infotainment crashing, freezing, let alone being confusing. I test drove the new RDX and couldn't figure out how to directly access a Sirius XM station.

Agree. I had an RDX loaner. It was fine save for the info-navigation system. Scores of non-intuitive menus and the navigation defaults to the closest scale, no changing it.
I could see my block, but seeing your route more than 100 yes ahead was impossible.

p.s., do you any of login to autospies on your iOS devices, and if so, how do you enter a password on this unsecured website? :(

The Autospies website is WAAAAAYYY overdue for a technology and architecture refresh.

I think 001 is biding his time and under-investing in the back-end technology while coating on Tesla "clicks" and ad revenue. Need an investment banker reference 001?

The content is nice, the 'community' is fun, but this is the only board I've been to in the past 3 years that still has the "!! NOT SECURE !!" message at the top of the browser bar.

Also - and this is super embarassing - click on the "View Profile" link in someone's user name and you get the "page of death"...

Server Error in Application "DEFAULT WEB SITE"
HTTP Error 404.0 - Not Found
The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

...and then to make matters worse... if you click on the "Links and More Information Tab"..you get...

This error means that the file or directory does not exist on the server. Create the file or directory and try the request again.

They if you click on the "View more information » " link you get...

"After 10 years, support for Windows 7 is nearing the end. Learn more >"

CONCLUSION - AUTOSPIES was first coded in about 2002-2004, it has not been significantly updated since then, and the back-end Microsoft Web-Ware is so old, that Microsoft no longer supports it.

The Precision Concept may have more influence when a new RLX comes out.

New MDX looks good. New TLX bears resemblance to the G70 but then again the G70 took cues from the TLX

Right, they need something above the MDX, not another stretched TLX.

Enlarge the TLX and rename it Legend.
Larger than MDX crossover and name it Pinnacle (or some appropriate name)
EV coupesedan aimed low in the price range call it Precision

I agree with Darringer. The letter code names suck and have sucked since inception, plus no one knows which one is which.

Legend was a successful name, as was Integra. I think they got away from names when some idiot in marketing told them that Vigor was a good idea.

Yes, the 'Acura Viagra' of the mid 1990's was the end of Acura names.

@mre30 The Acura Vigor was a HORRIBLE car and because IT failed, Acura reasoned that the good selling Legend and Integra could not go on with names. So they killed the Legend and gave us the horrible RL. They renamed the Integra RSX and in both cases sales imploded. But instead of going uh oh and fixing it, they said "Three letters in a row will make all the difference."

The front end copied the 2019 Toyota 4 runner. If this was a Hyundai then that's what would had been said like they say the 2020 Sonata's backend ripped off the Civics yet wont say the 2019 Accords greenhouse ripped off the 2011 Sonata's.

Speaking of copying 90% of today's SUVs side profiles B and C pillars are in the same locations from the Mazda CX-5, CR-V. All they do is change the angle on the rear window to differ it. But all the same. C pillars are blacked and come to a slat.

jtz7jtz7 - 7/15/2019 8:15:10 PM

All this Acura MDX greenhouse is a Mazda CX-5 with a different degree angle at the rear windows. Make it straight and you have Kia Telluride. Curve it more and you have a lengthy HR-V. Curve it less and then you have the side profile of the Nissan Rogue. But only the Koreans copy because it is Korean.

The front end also copied the Ford Explorer. But since Acura isnt Korean no one is going to bring that up.
