YOU Make The Call! Will The C7 Corvette Prices Drop Like ROCKS Or Be Scooped Up And Retain Value?
Here we go, Spies. Today is the big day.

The folks at General Motors are going to reveal the C8 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Today. July 18, 2019 will go down in history.

It may be great history. Or, it may be a horror show. Time will tell. But we're merely hours away, folks.

Leading up to the C8's debut there was a glut of C7 inventory. But, from what we're hearing, that started to sell quite fast once folks started seeing more and more of the upcoming, mid-engined C8.

Of the revealed images we've seen, it's going to be an interesting reveal. I'll leave it at that.

That said, we've got to wonder: Where will C7 values go in the near future? Are the values going to sink like a STONE or are they going to get jacked up?

Remember, it is a "true" Corvette by purist standards and it easily was the best modern Corvette — it's not even close.

What say you, Spies?

THe new C8 is a Win-Win situation for GM

It will divide into two groups
The group that prefers the C7 - and the Group that wants the latest Corvette and one of the first mid-engine ones.

Collectors will need BOTH - the last of the Front engine models - and the first of the Mid-engine models.

The C7 prices will probably drop slightly for base models - but otherwise not change much right away.

Dealers will be selling the C8 at MSRP or higher for a while too.

In 24 hours no one will want a C7. At least no one that matters to Chevy.

Time to get some fresh blood interested in the 'Vette!

Can't wait - C8 is going to be GR8!

The fun part is nobody really knows. This isn't like coming up with a V8 version when the car was a V6 (Aston Martin). Nor is it like offering a convertible or even a hybrid version. This is a complete change of a 50 year old formula. You could not imagine Porsche doing this with the 911 and still calling it a 911 even though it is completely different. Time will tell what buyers really think. A smarter move would have been to keep making the C7 and offer the Zora version in limited numbers each year.

C7 prices will drop for five straight years or more, hold value for a while then slowly regain value for the best examples like most high performance cars.

Buying Corvettes as some sort of future classic really isn't a bright move given that the money cars are largely the oldest ones. From the 1970s on, there really isn't anything that will be a future Barrett-Jackson superstar.

Don't necessarily disagree but when today's youth who become Corvette aficionados, financially better off and collectors they will want to add a front engine example to their stable. Depending on their means good low mileage examples of C7's will gain favor again. Maybe not mega bucks but certainly not bargain basement either.

The C7 will be no more desirable than a C6 or C5.

We've been able to easily sell every Z06 we can get and they don't linger very long.

Really. I think the C7 will fair better than the C5 and C6 being both the best and last of its kind. Time will tell which one of us is right.

The C7 is a better car than the C5/6 but not everyone was smitten with the styling. As for performance, the difference between a C6 and a C7 isn't much. For all intents and purposes, the C7 was a restyling of the C6.

I can confirm that the C7 prices are dropped significantly. Forget about asking prices. The C7 is being given away in spite of being a superior sportscar.

Depends 100% on the market. BUT behind the scenes GM has money to dealers that we can play with. We aren't needing to do steep discounts.

A base $60K C8 outperforms the $90K C7 ZO6. Clearly, the C8 is cutting the legs off the C7 resale value.

And you're a highly trained driver who has driven both back to back? If not, you're shooting shit out of your mouth because you do not know.
