The Chevrolet Corvette C8's debut is just a few hours old, and speculation is already swirling about the vehicle's future that could include a variety of forms of electrification. Sign of the times. Being a world car and having to deal with emissions and noise reg's in other countries, adding power via an electric motor to drive the front wheels with 500hp-700hp ICE driving the rear is the supercar recipe going forward for many brands. Aston, Lamborghini, Lotus, Porsche etc will all do this.

I agree - in fact I suspect that there will come a day when MOST ICE cars will be some type of Hybrid. In Europe - meeting their more stringent emission and carbon footprint requirements just about will force it. And eventually, the US EPA will be revived by another person in charge.

As an aside, the plastic engine cover can be had in multiple colours besides black. I see red in this photo and I think I saw a blue painted one as well. Not sure why only Ferrari and Lamborghini know how an engine compartment should look.

why would anyone waste money on a corvette when you could get an audi TT-RS and daily drive it?

Why would anyone want a $70K AWD Golf when they could have this Corvette instead?
